About the Program
The Automotive Technology program prepares individuals to engage in the servicing and maintenance of all types of automobiles. Instruction is included in the diagnosis and repair of engines, fuel, electrical, cooling, brake, drive train, and suspension systems. Instruction is given in the adjustment and repair of individual components such as transmissions and carburetors, and computerized information systems.
An Associate of Applied Science degree can be obtained after successful completion of two years and a certificate can be obtained upon successful completion of the first year. ASE certification can be obtained after successful completion of the program.
Admission Requirements
Priority given to applicants with ACT composite of 16 or equivalent ACCUPLACER score. All applicants must present documents of their scores.
Job Opportunities
Automobile repairman, service advisor in areas of brakes, electrical systems, engine performance, suspension and steering, automatic transmission and transaxle, engine repair, heating and air conditioning.
